After an all-time peak of global travel in 2019, the last year has decimated the industry in many ways, not least of which has been stripping away much of its intellectual capital, as so many people have had no choice but to find jobs in other industries.
It is the best possible landscape for new, innovative and progressive thinking, as it’s been widely acknowledged that simply reverting to the pre-pandemic volume of travelers is not only unsustainable for the industry, but also unhealthy for the planet.

This will be one of the most important hires we’ve made in recent years - someone who, based on experience and attitude will be able to help our clients imagine and navigate a very different and more positive future for their destinations.
To that end, Destination Think is seeking an experienced strategic consultant with direct experience working at or with a destination marketing organization (DMO), and exceptional skills in planning, facilitating and guiding a DMO through its continued development and adoption of updated approaches to tourism as a responsible and viable economic sector. The breadth of work we do for our DMO clients ranges from a modern creative campaign to multi-year strategic planning with stakeholders from across a destination.
Knowledge of and a passion for the tourism industry is required. A strong desire to be an extension of our clients’ teams to help them think, plan and create is mandatory. Preference will be given to candidates with senior-level experience and who have held positions in a DMO, who have a background in travel/tourism, and/or who have experience in strategic consulting organizations.
